Ugandans, like all citizens of the world, possess an inalienable right to enjoy a sustainable, hygienic and healthy environment. It does not matter their social, demographic, cultural or economic background, this fundamental right remains sacrosanct and globally acknowledged. At Exuberant Social Sustainability & Environment Initiatives (ESSEI), we are deeply committed to safeguarding and preserving this right. We believe that every Ugandan deserves to live in a safe, healthy and clean environment, free from the harms and dangers of pollution and environmental degradation. Through our various programs, such as legal aid, we provide invaluable support and assistance to all those in need, empowering them to maintain their rights and seek redress when they are threatened. By working hand in hand with communities across the country, we strive tirelessly to promote sustainability, social responsibility and a cleaner, greener future for all Ugandans.

- Public awareness on environmental laws, policies and bye-laws through the media for instance radio and television broadcasts, newspapers, workshops, trainings, community work, etc.
- Engaging communal police systems on enforcement of environmental laws through engaging relevant institutions like Police, Courts, Local Governments and other stakeholders.
- Reviewing environmental laws and engaging relevant stakeholders like National Environment Management Authority (NEMA), the Parliament of Uganda, Courts of law, Police and Local Governments to have environmental Law reforms and enforcement guarantees.
- Legal advice, research and strategic litigation in deserving cases.
- Promoting Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) through community and individual negotiations and reconciliation.
The law is a strong machinery for social transformation but again it is nothing but an expense. ESSEI is here to provide free legal services to the indigent in terms of knowledge and finances for effective enforcement of the right to a clean and healthy environment.
